Mr. Mohawk

Before we went out on Thursday night, Billy was doing his hair and Lucas was watching him and wanting the hairbrush. Billy put some gel the babies hair gave the boy a mohawk...it was the cutest thing ever. I have been waiting for his hair to grow long enough and its still not really there yet, but it worked and he rocked it quite well. Now I have been obsessed with it, so we gave him another in the tub last night.

This boy is doing so much now. All the cute stuff like blowing kisses, giving kisses, laughing ,copying everything and just being so darn cute. His boyhood is also shinning thru with the hitting and roughness, throwing everything, always wanting to be outside and he is starting to get a little wild at times. He is going to be so Billy personality wise...which is good, never a dull moment, but can I survive two Billy's in my household...we shall see.

We just got back from our outing with the Stroller Strides mommies and kidos, we went to Purina Farms. They had the Easter Bunny, petting zoo and dog shows. Lucas loved all the animals and just running around, I chased him around the whole time. When we got back in the car he was out in like one minute. It was good to be outside and just see how he would react to the animals. He like the little pigs and the bunnies, he was not quite so sure about the bigger animals. We are having some lunch now and going to go run the trail in a bit. We have a babysitter tonight and looking forward to that..Why does the warmer weather always make you want to drink!!

Today is my Friday for my work week, no plans for the weekend. I am going to start packing, laundry and last minute shopping for our trip to Mexico next week. So looking forward to spending some quality time with Billy and just relaxing and getting my drink on. I will miss Lucas so bad, but that is what the alcohol is for, right? He is in good hands with both is grandmas and he will spoiled to no end.
Heading to the gyno today(what fun!), picking Lucas up at his grandmas, grocery store and making dinner for some of my g-friends and we are going to watch Twilight tonight...for the second time. Billy is out of town tonight and we are going to put little man to bed and drool over Edward....he is so dreamy...even though I am probably old enough to be is mother!

Here are some pictures from the rest of our weekend in Mississippi. I absolutely love the south, I always have ever since I have been going there since I was 18. My bro lives in Hernando, MS and it is about 40 minutes from Memphis. I love the southern hospitality, sweet tea and just the laid back friendly vibe that is all around. Billy actually got some new business there and is actually pursuing some new ventures in that area. It is one of the largest distribution areas in the country, so he was in pallet sensory overload all weekend. So who knows, we may move there someday. The birthday party for my brother was so much fun, my long time friend from high school that I haven't seen in years met up with me for a beer and we caught up on the lost years. She actually lives in the same area and it was so nice to see her. We got to stop by and see her and husbands new house and have lunch with them before we took of, so I hope that we can stay in touch...there is nothing like old friends:)

Lovin it in the South

Having fun here in Mississippi..Lucas loves being in a new enviroment. He is having fun playing ball with Liberty(the dog, a shnauzer) and trying to find the kitty cat, who has been hiding from him since he arrived. We just hung out last night and order pizza and watch basketball, my favorite....NOT! Lucas and I just got back from a run in the subdivision and he is napping and I have been facebooking and lovin' on my little neice. Of course I have not gotten my camera out and taken any pictures yet, but I will today and I will post some later.

One year...time flies!

I have noticed on other blogs that they were posting pics of their tots from last year..I thought I would do the same. Last St. Pattys Day and Easter...I remember how crabby he was last Easter and so tired, you can really tell in the pics. This year will be so fun because he can go egg hunting, I can't wait. I already got him the cutest outfit plaid shorts and a polo with Elmo on it. BTW..do remember the Elmo incident? Ma Ma Nancy fixed Elmo's bo bo with the glue gun so now he doesn't look so scary with his parts hanging out.

WTF..Alexis..really?

Is anyone else disappointed in Idol tonight? I so think that the dude should have been voted off before Alexis. He sounded awful..and I really liked him at first. Damn and that Carrie Underwood can sing and she is so pretty, I mean really can she be any more beautiful. I like Idol because I can be doing things around the house and still have it on and not miss much. Tonight I was packing and getting ready for our trip to Memphis for my little step brothers birthday, he will be the big 3-0! Looking forward to spending time with my dad and Sherry and that sweet baby Kendall. That is my 3 month old niece and I just can't wait to squeeze her! Lucas will sure keep busy in a new house with lots of stuff to get into. We are taking some toys with us, but I am sure he will be more into their dog or anything he is not supposed to get into. Billy of course is looking forward to Memphis barbecue..you know my husband, food is very important! I am taking the laptop, so I will try to post pics over the weekend. Off to read, I am on the last book of the Twilight series.. and it is getting good. Ta Ta

Laid back weekend..love it!

Lucas and I have had a laid back and rest full weekend. Billy is out of town with his brothers at the Ozarks to celebrate his birthday. He really needed to get away and blow off some steam and hang with his bros. He never really does anything unless it is with me or Lucas and I think he needs that every once in a while. So, Lucas and I just chilled and did NOTHING...and I loved it. It turned out to be a nice day, so we went to the park and feed the ducks and played at the swings. This really knocked in him out last night, no fuss at all when he went to bed..he was tired. We are up this morning at 6:30 listening to the birds chirp and eating our waffles. Well, Lucas is sharing his with the dogs. We are meeting Grandma Sherry for lunch today, she is in town with friends for the hair show. So we are off for bath, playtime and nap before we head down there. I will post some pics later of Lucas in his St Pats shirt, I need to finish my coffee....Sunday here I come and looking forward to it:)

Oh Idol..why do you consume me?

Billy and I are obsessed with American Idol. We have been for about the last two seasons. I watched the first season with Kelly Clarkson and then started back up with Daughtry. It is so corny at times and I can't stand Paula Abdul, but I can't stop watching it. I really love the punk rocker guy, man does he have some pipes or what? I also LOVE Simon, I want to to hang out and drink beer with him, I bet he is hilarious. His sense of humor is so my style.
We are fighting some cold/sinus thing in our house, it started with Lucas and Billy and today I really feel the sinus pressure going on. I feel so drained and tired when I have allergy/sinus crap. I made the most yummy dinner, well Billy and Schnucks did:) He picked up stuff for tacos and got me some tortilla encrusted chili lime tilapea. So yummy, you have to pick some up. I broiled them and made fish tacos, sooooo good! I ate way to much and my belly feels as bad as my head right now, but I am still going to have my weight watcher ice cream treat because I am sickly and I need the sugar right now.
My momma is coming in tomorrow and it has been over a month since we have seen her, so we are excited about spending the rest of the week with her. Off to watch Idol and take some Benedryl so I can crash out tonight..Peace!

Craziness...

Crazy weekend...fun..and exhausting. Friday not so much, just chilled at home and got a good nights sleep, caught up on Tivo. Saturday was very busy...birthday party and a couples shower. I stayed up way to late and payed for it on Sunday...it was a loooooonnnngg day! I go two hours of sleep and was up for the day. I think Lucas knew mommy need to rest because he took a three hour nap, so I got to rest too. I am laying low until Mexico, man I have had two crazy girls night out in the last three weeks. It had been a long time since I have really been out, and I guess I caught up on the craziness. It was fun..but I get such mommy guilt the next day. I think it is just the lack of sleep, but I get so emotional. I know I deserve to go out and have fun, but sometimes I don't think it is worth the guilt and sleep deprivation. Looking forward to a uneventful week. Billy's birthday is Saturday, so we are going to dinner Thursday night. He is going out of town with his brothers for a guys weekend, something he truly needs. So Lucas and I are just hanging out with grandma and chillin'.

AWW...the joys of toddlerhood!

This little man is into EVERYTHING..drawers, hampers, outlets..the list goes on. Forget the million toys lying around, he would rather chew on the cord of my fan in my bedroom or grab utensils out of the drawer. He went in the kitchen today and came back into the living room carrying a metal skewer from one the the kitchen drawers. Yep, I will have to do some major rearranging and get finished with the childproofing. He is also loving to climb and push anything that moves. Oh man, I am already tired and it has only just begun. He also HATES the word no and I try to say no with some meaning so he will know that what he is doing is wrong. He whimper and pouts and sometimes just screams...the fits will soon be on their way. In the last week, he has really started jabbering away and just talking to me and really meaning it. I don't know what he is saying, but he means it. He is copying and mimicking everything and man is this kid going to have some personality. I love it, he wore my ass out today, but I love this kid. My patience was wearing thin early and I think I can blame those beers and staying up to late for that. He has been getting up at 5:45 the past week and it is killing me. He usually just jabbers away and I won't go in and get him until he gets fussy. He will just talk away for about 15-20 minutes. Anyhow....got a busy weekend, birthday party and couples shower on Saturday. We all are fighting a cold or sinus crap right know, so I hope we all feel better by then. Off to shower and watch the Greys finale that I still haven't had time to watch, yippee.

The kid likes bananas

Lucas ate three bananas today, yes THREE. When I came home today she (my MIL)said "that little boy LOVES bananas". I then looked at the fruit bowl and what was a bunch of bananas this morning there was one. I asked how many he had and she said three. I am not really upset about it, but the kid is not going to s**t for like a week. He may not have a problem with it, he definitely has no probs in the bowel movement department. Like father like son! What is it with boys and their poo!

Today started off at 5:45 when Lucas started talking to me from his crib. I new I was in for trouble when it was still half dark and I could feel that bottle of wine Billy and I had for dinner last night. We got up and slowly got ready to go to our weekly tradition of breakfast at First Watch. Love, Love, Love that place. The best breakfast ever! We then trucked it to Target,(my other favorite place) for various supplies and randomness. I swear I cannot ever leave that place without spending 100 dollars. Craziness. Got home and hung out, took turns going to the gym(no daycare on Sundays) and then got ready for a trip to Billy's grandmas house for a visit. Lucas had a blast chasing Maisey (grandmas kitty cat) around and even said her name or something that sounded like it. I love this picture of Lucas and his great grandma. I hated to leave her, she just got diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer's and is still pretty with it enoughto be scared of this awful disease. She was in tears and I just wanted to take her home with me:( To sad! I watched my grandpa suffer from this and it just breaks my heart. I am so glad we got to visit with her and that I got such a great picture of her and Lucas.
