Sun and Fun

On our way back from Rend Lake with Billy's family. We had a blast, Lucas was awesome on the boat. He did not make a fuss with the life jacket at all, we put his shades on and he just fell asleep. When we stopped he just played with his toys and was just in a happy mood. We docked at the beach today and he just loved the water there, he loved the waves! Everybody just raved at what a good little boy he was. I really did not expect him to do so well, but I was a proud mama. Here are a couple pics of the weekend! We should be home in about an hour, unload the car and get a hot shower and bedtime for me! My mom will be in tomorrow for a few days babysitting Lucas while Billys mom is out of town. It is always nice to see my momma and just hang out. Everyone have a great Labor Day!

Road Trip

We are packed up and on the road for another long weekend. Lucas is such a trooper, I hope this is as good of an experience as the last trip. These dang teeth are putting a wrench in the routine. He is crashed out and I hope he sleeps the whole two hours there. We did get to go out for a few hours last night. We went to watch Billy's uncle play music. His band is awesome, a nine piece country band. Steel guitar, fiddle and two singers . They are awesome! We got to grandmas to pick him up around 10:30 and Billy's mom said he was up until 9:45, he usually goes down around 8. She enjoyed it tho, she will be leaving him to go on vacation next week so she loved seeing him before she left. We will be joining them in about a week and a half in Ocean City, MD to visit with Billy's family and enjoy the ocean and wonderful seafood. Well I am going to go and enjoy my coffee and the cd I burned for the car ride.

Me and my Buddy

Today I am so tired! It was a struggle to get out of bed this morning. I got up with Lucas at six and gave him his bottle and sent him and Billy up to get my a extra large coffee. I did manage to get us out the door and to Stroller Stride class my 8:30, that I am proud of. Once I got that caffeine in my veins and the blood pumping at class, I was feeling much better. Lucas had a great morning at class(no melt downs), slept and did great in the car, and I managed to get a shower and get ready while he played in his bouncer. I took these pics while I was waiting for my friend Nickie to come over, we went to lunch with Jodie(the awesome photographer who takes Lucas's pics). She is shooting at Nickies wedding in September. Thank you Kristen for babysitting, sorry his was crabby! He is getting his teeth and he is getting to know when his mommy is gone. It is going to get harder to leave him with people, he is a people person and it doesn't take him long to warm up to people. I think he is just extra crabby because of his teeth. Come on teeth, come in already!!! Billy and I may be going out for a few hours tonight if Ma Ma Nancy will watch him. We have not been out by ourselves in over a month in a half. We need some us time! I had a great moms night out with the Luna Moms club last night. I wasn't going to go, but I went and I am glad I did. We went to paint your pottery place. It was fun and I felt better because I had a few hours to myself. I hear my little man now, up from is nap. Tootles!

Newest Item

Here is a picture of the newest item of baby paraphernalia, my new jogging stroller. The pic does it no justice, it is very cool. We still use our other stroller, but this will be much better for bumpy trails and for getting my ass out there running again. I have been slacking on that.

I took the swing apart and put in downstairs in storage. We are running out of room upstairs with his jumper and now the jogger. I feel like we are outgrowing this house already and the big time toy age hasn't even started yet. Not having a garage is really hard, we could store more if we had one. Oh well, we do the best with what we had. I love my house and its location, for now we are staying put. My friend Bree had a good view on that, not having to baby proof another house. Get by for now and then move into something that you don't have to drill holes for gates and pad and bumper everything. I ordered some storage items to keep everything organized.

Off to enjoy and little me time, Lucas is taking his afternoon cat nap . I have already packed for our trip, laundry caught up and the house work is staying up to par.

Peace!

The men of the house

Today is my friday and I am looking forward to a long weekend. We had no plans for the weekend until Billy called and told me we are going the the lake with his brother and eome other family. I so am not looking forward to packing for 3 days, getting a dog sitter and driving two hours. It will be fun, but alot of work.

Lucas has been a little cranky the past few days, I am praying for some teeth soon. We have been taking long walks every night after his bath and it has been great for getting him to sleep. WE get home and have a bottle and he is knocked out.

I took these pics tonight after our walk, he is really getting into all the toys. It is so fun to watch him pick up everything and just study it. He really love s books, daddy read him one tonight. He was more interested in chewing on it then really listening. He is sitting up good, no crawling yet, but I am sure it will be coming soon. I am so not ready for that! What happened to my little peanut. Well gotta go help Billy put together my new jogging stroller, can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

Kickball and new friends

I started my fall kickball league today. My friend Creek(CG friend) and his wife Trisha asked me to play and I was a little worried at first because I haven't played kickball since like 4th grade. We had a double header and the day could not be any more beautiful. Lucas was a hit with the ladies as usual and was hamming it up. We won our first game, but lost the second. I only know Creek and Trisha, but I hope to make some new friends. You all know me, get a couple beers in me and I never know a stranger. It will just be nice to get out and enjoy the fall weather and get some exercise and most of all have fun.
Off to fold a load of laundry and then bed time for me. Have a great week, hopefully I will get a post in before Wednesday!

Family Hike

We woke up this morning and packed the car for a family hike at Castlewood State Park. We trekked about 1.5 miles in rough terrain up hill to the bluffs for some scenic views. Billy had Lucas in the carrier on his chest and I hiked in front, Billy was exhausted after carrying 20 pounds on his chest up and down hill. Lucas loved the hike, he is such an outdoors man. He never fussed once and he even missed his morning nap. We then headed out to our boat and hung out at the marina pool, he loves!! the water. We had a nice visit with grandpa Bill and Uncle Russell. It has been a full day for the Johns family, I thought we would just lay back and chill since we are home, but you know us!! We love to be on the go:) Here are some pics of us on the hike and one of Lucas and dad with his grandpa uncle Russ.
