Fall is here!

I love fall! I love Halloween, pumpkins, leaves falling, warm soups and the cool crisp air. It is my favorite season and this morning it really seemed like it. The wind picked up and the leaves were falling all over the place. I can't wait to take Lucas to the pumpkin patch and pick out pumpkins. We have a busy October coming up and we still have to decide what Lucas is going to be for Halloween this year. We were going to be the Flintstones again and dress him up as Bam Bam, but I think we will do that next year. The costume I found online is way to big for him, so we will just find something else. We are going to dress up too and go over to my friend Nickie's (my new aunt) and all go as a group with the kids. I can't wait!
The wedding this weekend was a blast. We had a good time, I think I had way to much fun(draft beer sucks!). I didn't feel to bad yesterday, we picked Lucas up and went down to Taste of St Louis and tried out all kinds of food. Lucas had some fancy mashed potatoes and was sucking on french fries that had garlic on them. It was so funny after his last bottle last night he burped and it reeked of garlic. I laughed so hard!
We stopped and talked to a realtor that was selling a house in our neighborhood and she came over and looked at our house. We have been talking about finding something bigger and selling, but I am not so sure this is the time. I would love something bigger, but it is scary out there right know. To be honest, I love my house and it makes me sad to think about selling it. I have been here seven years and have put a lot of hard work into this home. Not sure what will happen, but I am taking it day by day. When we have another babe,we will defiantly have to find something bigger, but for now I am ok with my house for now. Off to watch CSI Miami!

Webkin

We had to take Lucas to the foot surgeon for another x-ray of his foot. He has a duplicated pinkie toe and it is fused to the fourth toe. The x-ray shows two bones, so the doc will be taking the extra bone out. They do not recommend fixing the web, because it does not hinder his walking and the risk of infection is greater. OK with me, I told Billy that will give Lucas a great party favor later in life. He loves the water so he will be a great swimmer, maybe another Michael Phelps...right Chris!!

We have Billy's uncles wedding tomorrow, he is marrying one of my best friends Nickie..she will now be my aunt. The weather is going to be gorgeous and Ma Ma Nancy is taking Lucas home to spend the night. So I will get a night out and maybe I will be able to sleep in on Sunday. I am sure I will be up early anyway, I never can sleep in when I drink.

Take me out the the Ballgame!

We took Lucas to his first Cardinal game last night and he loved it! If his little head could have spun in circles it would have. He loved all the people, the music and all the lights on the big screens. Thanks Carrie for inviting us:) It was a lot of fun. We found Fred Bird right before we left and he decided at the last minuted to bite my head...lol! That bird is crazy;)
I am excited about our plans today. I am having lunch with a childhood friend of mine. She is in remission from leukemia, but she has to come into STL for maintenance chemo every couple of months. I contacted her on her blog and we are meeting for lunch. I have not seen her for years and her mom is with her along with her 15 month old daughter Lilly. She grew up right behind me in La Place and we were born one day apart and our moms were in the same room at the hospital. We ran around a lot growing up in the big town of La Place..ha ha!

Lucas had his 9 month check up yesterday. He had two shots and his finger pricked..he did no like it, but he was a good boy. He weighs 20 lbs and4 oz (55%) and 27 inches (25 %), his head in in the 75 %..he has a big brain! They want him off the bottle at one year (crazy), so we are going to go down one bottle starting today...I am not sure how he is going to handle that, but we shall see. I cannot believe he will be one in 4 months! Everybody says they grow up fast.

Whirlwind weekend

Had a great family weekend, we packed a lot of stuff in over the last few day.s We went to the balloon glow Friday, air show on Saturday afternoon and the zoo on Sunday. The airshow freaked him out at first, those planes are LOUD! We had to get him some earphones and surprisingly he wore them without a fuss. Sunday afternoon we took him on his first trip to the zoo. It was packed and I think Lucas had more fun just people watching. There are some weird people out there. What is up with people being covered with tattoos. I mean really, isn't one enough? Do we have to cover our entire bodies with them?

He is in bed early tonight, no good naps today. I really should have went for a run, but I am tired from this weekend catching up with me.

BTW....who is reading this blog? Leave me a comment so I know! No one leaves me any love:)

Balloon Glow

We went to the balloon glow in Forest Park last night. It was so cool, the traffic was terrible so we drove around for awhile and then found a great parking spot at the last minute. Lucas was almost asleep and when we got him out he was in awe at the balloons and all the colors. The pic is his face the entire time, unless he was smiling. He loved it!

We went to dinner beforehand and he was great. We started finger foods yesterday, cheerios, veggie puffs and anything he can chew with no teeth. This dude still has not cut these teeth yet! He had some of the inside of daddies french fries and chewed on a piece of pita bread. He was a good boy and everybody around us loved watching him. He puts on quite a show.

No plans this weekend, just hanging out. We wanted to go to the air show at Scott Air force Base, but it is supposed to rain. Who knows were this day will take us! Have a good one.

This is for Jessie:)

If any of you know my cousin Jessie then you understand this post. Jessie is famous for putting in her "teeth" on various occasions and going into all out character mode as "Tisha". The teeth are horrendous and just looking at her cracks you up, along with her attitude as feisty Tisha. It is the funniest thing ever! At my baby shower, she got baby Lucas a pacifier with teeth of his own. The last couple of weeks he loves these things. He chews on them and he looks hilarious. He has no idea how funny he looks, or maybe he does. If I need a good laugh I just give him the teeth and I always get a good chuckle. Enjoy Jess, I hope this does you proud!

My other babies:(

I feel so bad sometimes, I never talk about my dogs anymore! Before Lucas they WERE my babies and talking about them on a daily basis was the norm. They have adjusted well with the baby, Stanley more then Blue. Which was the opposite of what I expected, but the more I thought about it I see why. Blu was my baby, she slept with me every night, where as Stan liked his crate and didn't like to snuggle so much. Blu was by my side every night under the covers, head on pillow and all. About 3 months into the pregnancy I thought it was time to break the habit, which I think was harder on me then on her. I got her a nice cushy dog bed and laid it next to my bed. Every night at bedtime she would lay on the bed and look and me with those sad brown eyes. It took all I had to not have her jump up with me and get under the covers. She somehow just knew what was expected of her and she never has gotten on the bed since. When we brought Lucas home from the hospital it took a few days for them to get used to the cries and up all night noise. Blu still looks at him and is like "what are you still doing here" and Stan is his protector. He watches him and if he cries or falls over he is right there giving him kisses. It is neat to watch and Lucas is really noticing them now and loves to watch them wrestle outside and come in and out the dogie door.

Going to enjoy the nice weather today! Lucas has a check up today and shots so I hope he is not to crabby! Got a lot done last night staying up late, so we are going to have fun day!

catch up=no sleep

I have finally come to terms with the fact that if I want to have any time to myself and also get all my chores and errands done, I will have to function on less sleep. This means that no going to bed early, staying up late and doing laundry and cleaning when Lucas is asleep. This will also give me time to catch up on my Tivo and check emails, do blog and read and comment on all the other blogs. I am OK with this, I can really get more done and when I am home with him and he is up and ready to go, I will enjoy my time with him so much more and not be worrying about all the things I have to get done. I will let you know how this works out for me , say your prayers for Billy, no sleep for me also means the claws come out and patience is VERY thin. They say you take it out on the ones you love the most. Poor Billy....I love you babe!

We're Back

We made it back safe and sound from Ocean City! Lucas did awesome on the plane, slept thru both flights. He loved the ocean and all his great aunties. He got lots of kisses and attention, he loved it. He really is a laid back baby and goes with the flow so well. He loved the ocean and the putting his feet in the sand. We took a walk on the beach with him every morning and fed the seagulls, he thought that was hilarious. We really had a nice relaxing time visiting with family and eating some great seafood! Crab cakes everyday! Walked the boardwalk and just took in the great ocean air. It is nice to be home! I paid for internet in the condo so I could post, but the signal would never keep a connection. So lots to catch up on!

Enjoy the few pics of our vacation! I love going away, but it is always nice to come home!

Yummy toes

Lucas is obsessed with his feet and toes! This pic is of him in his car seat sucking on his big toe! He is really taking an interest in everything. He is saying da da and scooting around. No crawling yet, but I personally think he will be pulling himself up and walking and skipping the whole crawling thing. We shall see!

It is a short week for me, Monday only. We are flying out to Ocean City, MD Tuesday! The rain and hurricane Hanna are gone and the weather has cleared up. Looking forward to meeting some of Billy's family and spending time at the ocean and eating some great seafood.

Grandma's Boy

I think Lucas gave grandma a run for her money while she was here! He was crabby and Billy was working from home a lot a he is a daddies boy! He would cry and fuss everytime he would hear Billy in the office. I think she was exhausted, but she got some good snuggles the morning she left. He woke up at six(usual time)and seemed fussy, I gave him a bottle and put him in bed with mom. They sleep until 8 and he was a much happier boy. I took advantage of a few hours, believe me I could have went right back to sleep. It was a rainy and nasty day yesterday. I was motivated so I paid bills, did laundry and cleaned.

We had Parents as Teachers come yesterday. It was right at his nap, so he was crabby. We talked about his developmental milestones and what track he was on. He seems to be right on schedule with everything. I took him to the doctor and no ear infection...yeah! Makes me feel better about flying. I hope these hurricanes stay away from Ocean City! I think that we will miss Hannah, but Ike is the big worry. We shall see, we will be bummed if we have bad weather. We have had this vacation planned since he was born.

Money Bags!

Sorry it has been a few days, busy few days with my momma in town. Just visiting and hanging out. We took her out to Pasta House for dinner tonight and met up with my friend Carrie and her fiance' PJ. We had a good time, Billy was feeding Lucas all kinds of stuff. Noodles, rolls, soda and he was loving it. He has been a little fussy for grandma the past few days, I am calling the doc tomorrow, he has been rubbing his ears. I am hoping he does not have an ear infection. We are leaving for vacation next Tuesday and I don't want him flying with an ear infection.

This pic is so funny, Billy let him get a hold on all this cash. He of course wanted to put it in his mouth(yuk) and we were able to get this quick shot of him with the money in hand. It is so funny to think that he has no idea what money is. His innocence is priceless:)
