Check out my Tot Rod!

What a face, he is so excited. He loves this car!

He is doing the scrunchie face again, I love it! He is also very interested in sniffing everything and he makes this face when does.

We are all packed and ready to go. Billy is getting his haircut and then we are off to the airport. Some wicked storms heading this way, I just hope we get out of here before they hit. Wish us luck and we will be thinking of you all.

Merry Christmas...HO, HO, HO!!!

Merry Christmas to everyone!!! Lucas loved his new car, he has already made multiple laps around the basement this morning! It is really cool, it has a long handle on the back that you can control the speed and steering. I made some french toast and he loved that(with lots of powdered sugar..of course). The two boys are taking a nap and I have already started laundry and made a lasagne and I am now just catching up in blogland. I feel truly blessed this year to have healthy little boy and a wonderful husband. I feel so bad that I am so bitch a times to Billy, because he is a total spaz and I have no patience. That is always my new years resoulution, but I cave every year. I just have no patience! I thought having a child would help that, but no such luck. I really hope I can overcome this, I don't want to be a bitchy mom or wife. We shall see!

Off to Billy's brothers today, I miss my family and wish they were here! Maybe next year we will have a big house and I can have the holiday. A girl can dream on Christmas..! Have a great day!

Look mommy...shoes!

Lucas has a new obsession..shoes. He gets the closet open and starts taking out all the shoes and I have alot of them. Maybe he has a love of shoes like his mommy! It is kind of nice, it keeps him occupied for quite some time and I can get alot done.

We had a nice weekend, finished up some shopping and got to go out for a few hours last night. We went out in "civilization" as my husband was telling people. It is freezing today and we stayed in most of the day. Lucas and I took two naps today and I feel like I caught up on alot of my sleep. Five more days and we will be in Mexico! I have alot to do tonight and the next few days, but tonight I am going to catch up on Tivo and start my packing, wrapping and laundry tomorrow. Have a great Monday!

My little reindeer

We bought these reindeer ears at Grandma Becky's work at 6 am on Sunday. He woke up at five and we had a bottle and bundled up to go to grandmas work. He actually let me put them on and surprisingly keep them on. What a sport!
We had a great weekend celebrating the holidays with family. Some had never met Lucas before so that was fun. We are staying home this weekend and finishing up shopping and wrapping presents. Twelve days until we leave for Mexico, so I am going to start getting things ready for our trip too. Looking forward to being home and resting up before the next crazy couple of weeks.

Crazy Friday

My day started at 4:45 this morning when my beloved son decided it was time to wake up for the day. I thought I would get him a bottle and then he would lay down with me for another hour or two. Oh, only in my DREAMS! We played, I made a really good spinach quiche(Billy is on some low carb craze), showered and dressed and off to the foot dr by 8:45. His foot has healed great and we have a follow up in a year. He was cute as can be and flirted with all the girls at the office. We picked up my cousin Craig from the airport and he hung out with us for the day. We went to Helens and then walked the mall and we all came home and took a nap. Well, they did. After all my catch up and messes to clean up, I managed to close my eyes for ten minutes before Lucas got up. It was a decent rest and kept me from collapsing the rest of the afternoon.. We had a nice visit and now I hoping for some good sleep. Tomorrow we have my family Christmas for my moms side and I am looking forward to a fun weekend. Gotta go, my Benadryl is kicking in.....Ahhhhh, sleep here I come!

Well, Lucas has bronchitis! He went to the doctor this morning because last night we found out that Ma Ma had it , so we figured there was a sure chance that he did too. He has had a cold/runny nose, but yesterday he really sounded congested in the chest. He is acting pretty normal, not to crabby. He actually sleep thru the night last night and that is a first in awhile. So we are going to stay in for the next couple days and get him better. We have a family function Saturday, so he should be non-contagious by then and feeling alot better.
I had my moms night out with my Stroller Strides girls tonight and we had our gift exchange. It was fun and it makes me feel so good to talk with other moms and just vent about husbands, babies, life and just the craziness of being a mom. It is really good therapy! The girls are all so nice and I am really glad I found this group.
On another really awesome note, my little niece was born tonight at 6:30, Kendall Marie she weighed 7 lbs 14oz and 21 inches long. Congrats Josh and Michelle, you are going to make terrific parents.

Happy Anniversary..to me and my hubby!

We were married two years ago today and all the things I wanted for us have come true. I wanted a child and wanted the family life. Billy always says that the mind is a powerful thing and that if you tell yourself something everyday these things will come true. With alot of prayers and medical science, we had our little man and all my dreams are coming true. I love our life and our family and here is to many more years to come.

Here we are on our wedding day in Mexico. We had so much fun and it was beautiful. Cheers to us! Billy is an amazing husband and a wonderful father, I couldn't ask for any better. Even though he is crazy silly and drives me up the wall sometimes, he always makes me laugh.

Benedryl....U ROCK!

I called the pediatrian to see if I could give Lucas anything for his runny nose and congestion. She said to try Benedryl and see if that helps, he sleep for Ma Ma for two hours and then another one hour nap later in the afternoon. He really needed some sleep...BAD and he looks so much better. I hope this sleeping thing continues tonight. He is laying with his daddy right now and we are trying to get him to sleep. God, I hope this Benedryl doesnt give him the opposite reaction...like really hype him up. No, I just checked, they are both out like a light. Thank you for meds!
Tomorrow is our anniversary, two years of wedded bliss. I am loving my life right now, what else could I ask for(besides more sleep). I tell ya, I never was a big sleeper, but now that I don't have a choice in the matter I really miss it. What I wouldn't do for all those saturdays that I could have slept in but didn't. Oh well, deal with it! I have a beautiful baby boy to spend my sleepy days with.

The Christmas spirit..all weekend long!

Grandma got him the shirt...He is my good little boy! Poor little man is fighting a cold and has been having a rough couple nights trying to sleep. He is so congested and I wish I could just blow his nose for him. He has a cough too, it is so pathetic to hear a little baby cough. This is him waiting for Santa.

Friday night started off the festivities with dinner and a ride to Bellville to see the lights at Our Lady of Snows. We went with my friends from work and it is our second year doing so. Last year when we were at dinner we sat next to a little boy about Lucas's age and we talked so much about what we thought Lucas would be and look like and how he would be with us the next year. So crazy how fast a year goes! Lucas fell asleep on the way, but I woke him up to see all the lights. He was mesmerized and was a good boy!

This is Lucas checking out Santa over the weekend. We went to a ladies house and Santa read story and the kids got cookies and milk. Thanks Katie for giving me the heads up on that:) When it was his turn to sit on Santa's lap, he just checked him out and made his "O" face. It was cute, no tears thank God.
Saturday night we dropped Lucas off at Ma Ma Nancy's and we had a dinner out for our anniversary. Two years ago we were in Mexico! It was so nice and we needed a night out. Ma Ma watched him over night so I actually had a full solid eight hours of sleep. It was heaven! I feel like somebody plugged me in and I recharged my batteries. I really think we need to get out more often. Poor Ma Ma had a rough night with little man, he was up for two hours in the middle of the night and then was up at five thirty. I felt horrible, but I was glad that he was with his Ma Ma that he loves. He fought a nap and fought bed time, it was like he had a sudden burst of energy, but I know that he is exhausted. Here's to hoping for a decent nights sleep.

Novemberfest

Checking out his first snow!
Here is the family on Lucas's first Thanksgiving. He looks so much like me it is scary!! The hair is getting more red every day! Billy looks like such the proud pa pa!

This is that cute little face that he makes ALL the time. Anything or anybody can make him make this face and he knows that it is funny. It is so funny now how he gets what is funny and what reaction he gets out of people.

WOW....Hello!

I have been such a slacker about blogging. It was a very busy holiday weekend, but a great one shared with friends and family. Lucas is doing great, having a rough time with these top two teeth and starting to get a cold. He saw his first snow Sunday am, but way to cold for him to play in it. He woke up and Billy took him to the window and he made is "OH" face. Those who have seen him make his face now how damn cute it is. He is crawling all over and cruising along the furniture. His balance is getting better so I don't have to worry about the major head injuries so much anymore. Making dinner has become a little easier, I can usually find something to keep him occupied while I cook. Last night he played with a empty beer box for thrifty minutes. All the toys he has and a empty card board box keeps him more entertained! Busy month ahead, I will do my best to post daily. I will post some pics of the weekend later, just wanted to drop a line so you don't all think I am a major slacker!

Elvira

I got my hair colored last night and it is sooooo dark. I called my hair lady(who is amazing and I love her) and she squeezed me in last night. We always mix up some concoction and the last time I LOVED the color. I thought that was what it would look like. She put me under the dryer, which we don't normally do, so I don't know if that cooked it more or what. When I got home last night, Billy was like"it looks dark" and I thought it was just because it was wet. Holy crap! It is waaaaaayyyyyy darker then I thought. I looks ok, just an adjustment. I have had it dark like this before and I know it will fade quickly, but holy smoke! So if you see me over the holiday weekend, I am not going goth or anything, just a hair color situation. Have a great day! I hope Lucas will know who I am...lol.

Suprise!

My husband, being the spontaneous person that he is, decided to surprise me with a family trip to Mexico two days after Christmas! Seven days+10 month old baby=ARE U INSANE!, I mean "thank you honey, how sweet! I think it is really sweet that he planned it(he never plans anything, gotta start somewhere right?:) , I just am being a practical mom and am stressing over it already. We are going with his brother and wife and their two daughters, so we are going to help each other out with the kids, but I think I will need a vacation from the vacation. All these things keep running through my mind, "what is he going to eat?", "how will I pack all his food and toys?", "what if he gets sick?".. I know, I know, I am worrying to much, I need to just deal with it and have fun....right? The anxiety is fading and I feel safe in knowing that I have a wonderful husband that is a great father and is really a hands on dad. Lucas loves the outdoors and the ocean. I know that he will have a blast! We had to go to the PO and get his passport, how cute is that? He smiled so big for the camera, I can't wait to see that one.
My mom is coming in tomorrow and is watching Lucas on Friday. I am going to Branson with work. Doing some shopping and just hanging out with my friends. It will be nice to get some x-mas shopping done and just have a break. I will miss my little buddy though!

Fast friends

Lucas and Blu have become fast friends over food. As most of you who know my doggie Blu, she is a chow hound and will eat anything you throw her way. Now that Lucas is self feeding, alot of food ends up on the floor. This is free game for Blu and it saves me time from sweeping up the floor. Blu is my little Hoover picker-upper!

Just hanging out this weekend. Cold and nasty here today. Billy is starting his paint gun thing today and Lucas and I are hanging out and catching up on laundry. Happy Saturday!

The Elmo fiasco

Uh..Yeah, Blu and Elmo had some words! The new Elmo Live(talks, tells stories and sings) and Blu(my needy little brown pooch) had a little misunderstanding the other day. In a rush to grab some toys the other morning I forgot to latch the basement gate and the dogs had a hay day on Lucas's play mat and his toys. Elmo seemed to get the worst of the deal! Lucas loves Elmo and every time we play him, Blu just looks at it like"you have to be kidding me!". She gets this gleam in her eye like she wants to rip its head off! Well I guess she seized the opportunity and GAME ON! I was pretty mad at first, but I kind of laugh when I think of what that was like. I can just see the red fur flying and Blu just having grand ol' time. With a little glue and a band aid, Elmo is back in business, but Blue still wants to settle the score!

Cast mishaps, snotty nose and lack of sleep=one hell of a weekend!

This picture is awesome, this is his new face he makes. Anything he sees that he likes or if you act surprised and excited, he makes this expression. This is after his surgery and he had to have his foot elevated to keep the swelling down. We read lots of books and just snuggled. He did good with the cast for the first day, but managed to get the splint off Friday night after dinner. We had to take him to the doctor Saturday morning and have them re-splint it. By the time we left the office and went to the grocery store, he was wiggling his way out of that one. We decided that we would just wrap it the best we could and just forget the splint. He seems to be doing good with that and he doesn't seem to be in any pain. He has a cold and that seems to be a bigger deal right now then his foot. He was up ALOT at night over the weekend. He is really congested and just not sleeping well, which means that I am not sleeping well. It made for a crabby little boy and a crabby mommy. I started getting emotional and just felt like a bad mom all around. It was a challenge and I hope he gets to feeling better and sleeping better too.

He did awesome!

This has to be the cutest damn picture. He looks so big! He was finally coming out of the anesthesia and was munching on a cracker. Isn't that the cutest little cast. This will be quite the challenge for the next week.
This is him taking a wagon ride while we waited for the anesthesiologist. He got so excited when the nurse brought it. We know what he is getting for Christmas. We took some laps around the hall and he was checking out everything and everyone. Everyone just loved him and wanted to pinch his little cheeks.

This is Lucas before his surgery, happy as can be. Pretty amazing really since it is only 6 am and he hasn't had his bottle yet. He was so interested in what everybody was doing.

Surgery went smoothly and he came out of anesthesia very well. Got some tears and fussiness for only about 20minutes. We got some juice down and then were able to get the I.V. out. We are home resting and cuddling in bed for the day. As I write this he is laying next to be snoring like his daddy:)

Surgery is on:}

Lucas's surgery is a go for tomorrow! I am relieved to be getting this over with, but I am so nervous about him getting put under general anesthesia. I know that they do it all the time, but I just get so worried about it. It will be the longest hour of my life and I am going to be a nervous wreck. The hardest part for Lucas will be him not getting his bottle in the morning. We have to be at the hospital at 5:30 and his surgery isn't until 7:30. He is going to be a crabby boy!
How is everyone feeling about the election? I am just so relieved that it is over and I don't have to listen to the commercials anymore.

Bumps and bruises

Lucas got his first goose egg on his forehead. He did a header into his toybox and made some serious contact with one of his toys. Ma Ma Nancy felt horrible and said that it just happened so fast. He is so curious, always wanted to stand and check everything out. I didn't freak out, it is just the first of many bumps and bruises he will get.

His surgery is still on for Thursday...maybe. The nurse called me yesterday saying that the dr. had a death in the family and that they needed to reschedule. She then called back before the end of the day saying the it is still on and that the dr should be able to be there in the morning and that services where in the afternoon. I hope we can just get it done! If not we have to wait until Dec.11th, that is two days before my moms family celebrates x-mas and I really don't want to travel with him after the surgery. Cross your fingers.

I like this one better:)

I love this picture, it was at the halloween party and he just woke up from the car ride. All the kids where running around playing and he was just zoned out. A little sensory overload! He looks so tired! I said Batman was tired from staying up all night fighting crime.

More pics and weekend updates

Here is a picture of Lucas with Uncle Josh and Aunt Shell. We drove up to Decatur for Aunt Shell and baby Kendall's baby shower Saturday. He was a hit at the shower and at Shell's brothers surprise 30th party. He is waving at the camera, this is a new thing. Everyone could not believe what a good baby he is and how awesome it is that he keeps the hat on. I love that hat!!! He looked so handsome, dressing this boy is so much fun!
Today we got home at 11 and Lucas and daddy played outside while I picked up and started laundry. We then left daddy home to do yard work and went to Jodie's Holiday Hullabloo(spelling a little sketchy) and got started on some x-mas shopping. There was some really cool stuff and yummy cookies from the Cake Girls. We went for a family walk with the dogs and grilled out on the grill. I can't believe how nice the weather has been, you would have never guess that it is the first on November. We had Lucas in the swing outside and we were playing ball with the dogs, he has never laughed so hard. He thought that was hilarious! He really loves being outside, he is really going to miss it this winter. I will just bundle the little bugger up then, I can't wait for him to play in the snow!

Batman..fighting crime!

Here is our little Batman! We had a busy Halloween, we started out at my office to show the girls at work, then Stroller Strides class and over to one of the moms house for a costume party for the kids. There was some cute costumes, my favorite was a little Tinkerbell. She is five months old and was so cute with her little wings on. He was a little crabby, he missed his morning nap, but he loved being around the other kids. We went over to Aunt Nicki's and Uncle Jamie's and ate some dinner and went treating with there family and another family(friends of theirs). Lucas was a little confused as to why we were walking around at night, but he loved going up to the doors with dad. Everyone got a kick out of Billy taking him up there, they were like "here's some candy for daddy". I think Billy had more fun then Lucas!

Nine months old....already?

Here are a few of the pics of our session with Jodie. Lucas looks like such a stud in his hat. My dad thinks he looks like a little 1940's baby. He is getting so big and does something new everyday. He is doing the funniest thing with his eyebrows lately. I tried to get a picture of it today, but no cooperation. He did cooperate for Jodie though, they are amazing!

Safety first!

This morning was all about safety. We went to the dealership because my tire pressure was low in my left rear tire. There was a huge screw in my tire, thank god I went in because Lucas and I are going to D-town this weekend. I would have hated to have a flat on the hwy with him in tow. He was quite the entertainment for all the old ladies in the waiting room, he was his usual charming self. Just jabbering away and they were loving it. It is so amazing what a baby does to people, it brings out the best. Then we went down to the Mehlville fire station were we had the car seat checked. We bought a larger seat for Lucas, since he is a big boy now and it just did not seem right. It moved a lot and did not seem safe. They do safety checks on seats and we lucked out today because we got two young cute fireman to wait on us. They were very nice and helpful and the seat is much more stable and I feel better. It was quite the highlight of my day, talking to two studs in uniform. To bad I did not have some of my single lady friends in tow. We have to buy another one today so whoever wants to go with me next time, call!
I am typing this in the car on my laptop, Lucas is sleeping in the comfy new car seat and then we are off to lunch and shopping.
I will post pics tomorrow of my little Batman.

Duh....!!!

Hello, duh!!! My last post was titled retail therapy, but I failed to even go there. I got caught up talking about the gym and childcare germs that I forgot to talk about my much needed shopping excursion. After the gym I went to Macy's and got some killer boots, a great pair of jeans for a awesome deal and some cute sweaters. I just love Macy's, they have the best deals. Anyway, my point is go to Macy's, they are having a killer shoe sale! Happy Shopping!

Retail therapy:)

Last night when Billy got home, I did the hand off and I was out the door. I needed a break and just some me time. I went to the gym for the first time in a while. I put the headphones on and watched Ugly Betty and ran on the treadmill for 45 minutes. It was heaven, I felt so good afterwards. I checked out the childcare there to see what it was like. I am a little freaked out about taking him there, but I am going to give it a try soon. I want to wait until after his surgery and when he is healed. I don't want him to get sick, and I am sure it is a germfest in there. If he has any kind of upper respiratory or even a runny nose, he can't have surgery. I am hoping to keep him healthy for the next two weeks. Cross your fingers, it seems like everybody is sick.
Looking forward to heading to Decatur this weekend. It has been forever since we have made a trip up, since my cousins wedding in August. My mom and Al are having a hayride and bonfire so it should be fun. I am going to bundle Lucas up and he is going to have a ball with all his cousins.
Everyone have a great weekend!

Holy Batman...jumping bean!

This is our little jumping bean, he can now get up and hold onto the rails and jump. We just lowered his bed a few days ago and putting him to bed since has been a challenge. We have our regular bedtime routine with dinner, bath, bottle and bed. I usually give him his bottle while I rock him to sleep. After he has his bottle and is asleep,I put him in his crib and he wakes right up. He then starts jumping. It is like he knows when I put him in bed and then he thinks its time to play. Maybe his sleep schedule is changing and he will be staying up later, but this kid gets a sudden burst of energy. This is a challenge for me because this is my time to get stuff done. I stayed up until midnight last night just doing odds and ends. Getting stuff done during the day now is hard, he is constantly pulling up and I know the one time I turn away he will fall and have an injury.
We went to get his Halloween costume last night. Lucas got scared at the store, there was some gross mannequin that made weird noises and his brain popped out of his head. He just stared at it and then puckered up and started crying. Billy then started putting on all the masks and got some giggles out of him. We went to two stores and ended up getting him the Batman costume. We put the mask on him to see if he would tolerate it and he just grunted. It is pretty cute and not to confining.

Pictures...Pumpkin Head!

Family self portrait, don't you just want to pinch those cheeks!
Picking out his pumpking, he was more interested in the tractor.

His first pony ride, he LOVED it!

Happy boy checking out the baby goats.

Soooo Big!

This is him playing on the floor with all his toys. We have to really pad the floors with blankets and I use an foam pad. He will have to wear a helmet when he starts walking , we have all hardwood and tile floors.

We say this all the time to Lucas and he loves to throw his hands up in the air. Here are a few pics I took today, Isn't he getting so big. I think he is looking a little more like his daddy. Whatcha think?

Go Packers!

Lucas finally fits into the Packer outfit Pa Pa Terry and Grandma Sherry got him. He looks so cute and he got lots of compliments today at stroller class. He is getting so big! He is a great eater, loves chicken and veggies and he is feeding himself his snack puffs. He still refuses to hold his bottle, he can hold and drink out of his sippy cut by himself but when it comes down to business he wants nothing to do with his bottle. I think with him being such a good eater and drinking out of his cup so good, weaning him off the bottle will be a little easier I hope. They want him off the bottle at one year and that is only THREE months away. I can't believe I will be planning his first birthday soon. I have some ideas and I think we will keep it small and simple....yeah right, not if Billy has anything to do with it. He wants to buy him a toy every Sunday and I have to tell him that WE HAVE NO ROOM! He is so spoiled, but can you really spoil them to much at this age?

Big hugs to my BFF Kim who had some major dental surgery today. I am so proud of her for getting this ball rolling and I can't wait to see that pretty smile again on that beautiful face. PROPS to you KG! LYLAS:)

Can't wait to have a girls night tonight, I love to entertain! I wish my house was a little bigger because I would do it more often, but sometimes it feels so small. Someday we will get something bigger, but for now I like my little one.

Gotta go do a few more things before he wakes up! Peace out, and lets hope for no hangovers for the pumpkin patch tomorrow.

Bunco..Drunko!

I am hosting our first bunco night on Friday. I rounded up some of my old bunco group, girls from work and friends of friends. I love having a reason to get together and have a girls night. If you don't have it planned every month, you wont do it. We get so busy with our lives and kids that we put social time at the bottom of the list..and God knows we need that! So I am excited and just trying get my house in order and clean before Friday. Lucas went to bed early but has woke up three times since I put him down. He is getting a little cold, so he is all stuffed up and I think he has a hard time breathing out his nose. I have managed to get the kitchen floor clean, basement clean and laundry done...now I am going to catch up on some Tivo.

Monday, October 13, 2008

Driving..already?

Lucas is obsessed with steering wheels. Billy started letting him stand up in the front seat of the Hummer and play with the steering wheel and now when we try to put him in his car seat he throws a fit wanting to get up in the front seat. This pic cracks me up, he is so thrilled. How easy we can please them with ordinary things.

How was your Monday? Mine was busy, starting at 4:30 when Lucas decided to wake up...yes I said 4:30! He has been fighting sleep at bedtime and waking up so early. Not sure what that is all about, but I hope he gets back into some routine. He is finally sleeping and my husband is snoring on the couch, so I am going to catch up on some Tivo and go to sleep. Here's to hoping he sleeps till six!

I'm back!

Wow...what a crazy week it has been. Sorry for being MIA, just out of town for a few days and then trying to get back into the swing of things. The trip to KC was a blast, Tina Turner was awesome. She put on a terrific show, she looks amazing. I am so glad that I went and I had a blast with all my coworkers. I am so lucky to work with such amazing people, we are like family. It makes it so much more enjoyable to go to work. I have been with Dr. West for nine years, it has flown by. They have seen my life change in all ways, good and bad and they have always been there for me.
On the Lucas front, he finally has his two bottom teeth poking thru. He has been a little more fussy, but he still is rocking his charming personality.

We had some family pics taken by Jodie on Saturday, wait until you see this hat I got him to wear. It is a little newsboy cap, looks like a golfer hat. Too damn cute! He looks so adorable. I will post the pics as soon as she gets them to us.

We went to the pumpkin patch today but it was too hot. I can't believe I am saying that two weeks into October. We have plans to go again Saturday so I am hoping for more fall weather. Still undecided on the Halloween outfit, will get that done this week. Here's to Monday and getting some shit done!!

Here we go again!

We got our early x-mas present this week from my day and step mom, a backpack hiker for Lucas. This thing is amazing, we love it. He was not so sure about it when we first put him in it, we had some adjusting of straps and so on, so he was not liking that so much. When we got to the trail and put him in, he had a huge grin on his face. His face said it all, this is so COOL and my dad is awesome! We hiked for at least an hour and a half, I think the trail is three miles. It was gorgeous, it did not seem like we were in Missouri when we got up on the bluffs overlooking the Mermac River. It was breathtaking. When we got down on the river trail a group of people were horseback riding and Lucas got to see his first horse. The people were so nice, they stopped so he could get a good look. Lucas was a trooper yet again, he is such good boy. I cannot say it enough, he just goes with the flow.

It was another awesome weekend with my family. Sometimes I really feel overwhelmed and stressed, but today I just put the worries under the rug and enjoy the beautiful day. Life is too short and I am truly blessed!

Short work week this week...did I tell you all that my boss(who totally rock..luv ya doc:) is taking the whole office to K.C to see Tina Turner..oh yeah. We are taking an R.V on Tuesday at 11, road tripping to KC and then doing some shopping and the concert is on Wed. I am so glad I decided to go, I was almost not going too, but mama needs to have some fun. I am sure there will be some drunken tears over missing my Lucas( oh and you too Billy:}), but I will survive. Watch out K.C , here we come and we are a crazy group.

Kissable..Kissable..!

I love this picture! Don't you just want to pinch those cheeks. I love those dimples, his scrunched up nose and those eyes will just break your heart. I just had to post this real quick, I took it this morning before stroller class. The hat is so cute, garage sale find from Ma Ma Nancy! Love it!

What a beautiful day:)

What a beautiful day today! The sky was clear and blue and the temperature was perfect! Just a perfect fall day. I enjoyed my day with Lucas and we spent a lot of time outside. I keep thinking that pretty soon the weather will be cold and yucky and we will be forced to stay inside, so we are making the most of it. We got our early x-mas gift from Pa Pa Terry and grandpa Sherry yesterday, an new backpack hiker and I can't wait to hit the trails on Sunday.

As I am writing tonight I am listening to the debate...wow! This race is so intense and downright scary. I am so worried about this country and where we are headed! I just hope that our economy will bounce back! I say it all the time..."it is scary out there!". I hope that whoever gets into office that there is a change in our future. I think I feel so much more strongly now that I have Lucas and I worry about his future. Anyway..enough about politics, I am sure we are all ready for this to be over.

I was reading Jodie's blog and she was talking about the Oprah yesterday with the mom that left her little girl in the car and she died. She stated that we all need to slow down and that we all try to do so much...and in her case it turned out deadly. I know it put me in perspective, I have had alot of things on my mind the last few days and I almost ran a red light with Lucas in the car today. OMG...I freaked, I think that is why I just forgot about the housework and went outside and SLOWED DOWN! We all get overwhelmed, but we cannot always be perfect and our house doesn't always have to be clean. Enjoy our children..they grow up so fast and these days are priceless!

We have teeth!!

Finally..Finally...I see some teeth coming in. Lucas actually let me look in his mouth yesterday and I see is two bottom teeth trying to poke thru. I can't wait to see what his little teeth are going to look like.
Today we are going to hang out and run some errands. I want to take him outside today and enjoy the weather. Hopefully we will get a long walk in, I want him to check out all the leaves falling. I have 4 loads of laundry to put away. I always was so good about putting laundry away, but now I hate it. I feel like I do good by just getting it done and folded.
I am excited about our plans tomorrow. My uncle Tommy is coming in town and we are going to hang out tomorrow night and Aunt Brenda flies in late and we will visit with her Saturday morning. They have not seen Lucas since May so I am excited for them to see how big he is now.
That is about it here, not much going on in the Johns household this week. Just laying low and enjoying the first days of fall.

Fall is here!

I love fall! I love Halloween, pumpkins, leaves falling, warm soups and the cool crisp air. It is my favorite season and this morning it really seemed like it. The wind picked up and the leaves were falling all over the place. I can't wait to take Lucas to the pumpkin patch and pick out pumpkins. We have a busy October coming up and we still have to decide what Lucas is going to be for Halloween this year. We were going to be the Flintstones again and dress him up as Bam Bam, but I think we will do that next year. The costume I found online is way to big for him, so we will just find something else. We are going to dress up too and go over to my friend Nickie's (my new aunt) and all go as a group with the kids. I can't wait!
The wedding this weekend was a blast. We had a good time, I think I had way to much fun(draft beer sucks!). I didn't feel to bad yesterday, we picked Lucas up and went down to Taste of St Louis and tried out all kinds of food. Lucas had some fancy mashed potatoes and was sucking on french fries that had garlic on them. It was so funny after his last bottle last night he burped and it reeked of garlic. I laughed so hard!
We stopped and talked to a realtor that was selling a house in our neighborhood and she came over and looked at our house. We have been talking about finding something bigger and selling, but I am not so sure this is the time. I would love something bigger, but it is scary out there right know. To be honest, I love my house and it makes me sad to think about selling it. I have been here seven years and have put a lot of hard work into this home. Not sure what will happen, but I am taking it day by day. When we have another babe,we will defiantly have to find something bigger, but for now I am ok with my house for now. Off to watch CSI Miami!

Webkin

We had to take Lucas to the foot surgeon for another x-ray of his foot. He has a duplicated pinkie toe and it is fused to the fourth toe. The x-ray shows two bones, so the doc will be taking the extra bone out. They do not recommend fixing the web, because it does not hinder his walking and the risk of infection is greater. OK with me, I told Billy that will give Lucas a great party favor later in life. He loves the water so he will be a great swimmer, maybe another Michael Phelps...right Chris!!

We have Billy's uncles wedding tomorrow, he is marrying one of my best friends Nickie..she will now be my aunt. The weather is going to be gorgeous and Ma Ma Nancy is taking Lucas home to spend the night. So I will get a night out and maybe I will be able to sleep in on Sunday. I am sure I will be up early anyway, I never can sleep in when I drink.

Take me out the the Ballgame!

We took Lucas to his first Cardinal game last night and he loved it! If his little head could have spun in circles it would have. He loved all the people, the music and all the lights on the big screens. Thanks Carrie for inviting us:) It was a lot of fun. We found Fred Bird right before we left and he decided at the last minuted to bite my head...lol! That bird is crazy;)
I am excited about our plans today. I am having lunch with a childhood friend of mine. She is in remission from leukemia, but she has to come into STL for maintenance chemo every couple of months. I contacted her on her blog and we are meeting for lunch. I have not seen her for years and her mom is with her along with her 15 month old daughter Lilly. She grew up right behind me in La Place and we were born one day apart and our moms were in the same room at the hospital. We ran around a lot growing up in the big town of La Place..ha ha!

Lucas had his 9 month check up yesterday. He had two shots and his finger pricked..he did no like it, but he was a good boy. He weighs 20 lbs and4 oz (55%) and 27 inches (25 %), his head in in the 75 %..he has a big brain! They want him off the bottle at one year (crazy), so we are going to go down one bottle starting today...I am not sure how he is going to handle that, but we shall see. I cannot believe he will be one in 4 months! Everybody says they grow up fast.

Whirlwind weekend

Had a great family weekend, we packed a lot of stuff in over the last few day.s We went to the balloon glow Friday, air show on Saturday afternoon and the zoo on Sunday. The airshow freaked him out at first, those planes are LOUD! We had to get him some earphones and surprisingly he wore them without a fuss. Sunday afternoon we took him on his first trip to the zoo. It was packed and I think Lucas had more fun just people watching. There are some weird people out there. What is up with people being covered with tattoos. I mean really, isn't one enough? Do we have to cover our entire bodies with them?

He is in bed early tonight, no good naps today. I really should have went for a run, but I am tired from this weekend catching up with me.

BTW....who is reading this blog? Leave me a comment so I know! No one leaves me any love:)

Balloon Glow

We went to the balloon glow in Forest Park last night. It was so cool, the traffic was terrible so we drove around for awhile and then found a great parking spot at the last minute. Lucas was almost asleep and when we got him out he was in awe at the balloons and all the colors. The pic is his face the entire time, unless he was smiling. He loved it!

We went to dinner beforehand and he was great. We started finger foods yesterday, cheerios, veggie puffs and anything he can chew with no teeth. This dude still has not cut these teeth yet! He had some of the inside of daddies french fries and chewed on a piece of pita bread. He was a good boy and everybody around us loved watching him. He puts on quite a show.

No plans this weekend, just hanging out. We wanted to go to the air show at Scott Air force Base, but it is supposed to rain. Who knows were this day will take us! Have a good one.

This is for Jessie:)

If any of you know my cousin Jessie then you understand this post. Jessie is famous for putting in her "teeth" on various occasions and going into all out character mode as "Tisha". The teeth are horrendous and just looking at her cracks you up, along with her attitude as feisty Tisha. It is the funniest thing ever! At my baby shower, she got baby Lucas a pacifier with teeth of his own. The last couple of weeks he loves these things. He chews on them and he looks hilarious. He has no idea how funny he looks, or maybe he does. If I need a good laugh I just give him the teeth and I always get a good chuckle. Enjoy Jess, I hope this does you proud!

My other babies:(

I feel so bad sometimes, I never talk about my dogs anymore! Before Lucas they WERE my babies and talking about them on a daily basis was the norm. They have adjusted well with the baby, Stanley more then Blue. Which was the opposite of what I expected, but the more I thought about it I see why. Blu was my baby, she slept with me every night, where as Stan liked his crate and didn't like to snuggle so much. Blu was by my side every night under the covers, head on pillow and all. About 3 months into the pregnancy I thought it was time to break the habit, which I think was harder on me then on her. I got her a nice cushy dog bed and laid it next to my bed. Every night at bedtime she would lay on the bed and look and me with those sad brown eyes. It took all I had to not have her jump up with me and get under the covers. She somehow just knew what was expected of her and she never has gotten on the bed since. When we brought Lucas home from the hospital it took a few days for them to get used to the cries and up all night noise. Blu still looks at him and is like "what are you still doing here" and Stan is his protector. He watches him and if he cries or falls over he is right there giving him kisses. It is neat to watch and Lucas is really noticing them now and loves to watch them wrestle outside and come in and out the dogie door.

Going to enjoy the nice weather today! Lucas has a check up today and shots so I hope he is not to crabby! Got a lot done last night staying up late, so we are going to have fun day!

catch up=no sleep

I have finally come to terms with the fact that if I want to have any time to myself and also get all my chores and errands done, I will have to function on less sleep. This means that no going to bed early, staying up late and doing laundry and cleaning when Lucas is asleep. This will also give me time to catch up on my Tivo and check emails, do blog and read and comment on all the other blogs. I am OK with this, I can really get more done and when I am home with him and he is up and ready to go, I will enjoy my time with him so much more and not be worrying about all the things I have to get done. I will let you know how this works out for me , say your prayers for Billy, no sleep for me also means the claws come out and patience is VERY thin. They say you take it out on the ones you love the most. Poor Billy....I love you babe!

We're Back

We made it back safe and sound from Ocean City! Lucas did awesome on the plane, slept thru both flights. He loved the ocean and all his great aunties. He got lots of kisses and attention, he loved it. He really is a laid back baby and goes with the flow so well. He loved the ocean and the putting his feet in the sand. We took a walk on the beach with him every morning and fed the seagulls, he thought that was hilarious. We really had a nice relaxing time visiting with family and eating some great seafood! Crab cakes everyday! Walked the boardwalk and just took in the great ocean air. It is nice to be home! I paid for internet in the condo so I could post, but the signal would never keep a connection. So lots to catch up on!

Enjoy the few pics of our vacation! I love going away, but it is always nice to come home!

Yummy toes

Lucas is obsessed with his feet and toes! This pic is of him in his car seat sucking on his big toe! He is really taking an interest in everything. He is saying da da and scooting around. No crawling yet, but I personally think he will be pulling himself up and walking and skipping the whole crawling thing. We shall see!

It is a short week for me, Monday only. We are flying out to Ocean City, MD Tuesday! The rain and hurricane Hanna are gone and the weather has cleared up. Looking forward to meeting some of Billy's family and spending time at the ocean and eating some great seafood.

Grandma's Boy

I think Lucas gave grandma a run for her money while she was here! He was crabby and Billy was working from home a lot a he is a daddies boy! He would cry and fuss everytime he would hear Billy in the office. I think she was exhausted, but she got some good snuggles the morning she left. He woke up at six(usual time)and seemed fussy, I gave him a bottle and put him in bed with mom. They sleep until 8 and he was a much happier boy. I took advantage of a few hours, believe me I could have went right back to sleep. It was a rainy and nasty day yesterday. I was motivated so I paid bills, did laundry and cleaned.

We had Parents as Teachers come yesterday. It was right at his nap, so he was crabby. We talked about his developmental milestones and what track he was on. He seems to be right on schedule with everything. I took him to the doctor and no ear infection...yeah! Makes me feel better about flying. I hope these hurricanes stay away from Ocean City! I think that we will miss Hannah, but Ike is the big worry. We shall see, we will be bummed if we have bad weather. We have had this vacation planned since he was born.

Money Bags!

Sorry it has been a few days, busy few days with my momma in town. Just visiting and hanging out. We took her out to Pasta House for dinner tonight and met up with my friend Carrie and her fiance' PJ. We had a good time, Billy was feeding Lucas all kinds of stuff. Noodles, rolls, soda and he was loving it. He has been a little fussy for grandma the past few days, I am calling the doc tomorrow, he has been rubbing his ears. I am hoping he does not have an ear infection. We are leaving for vacation next Tuesday and I don't want him flying with an ear infection.

This pic is so funny, Billy let him get a hold on all this cash. He of course wanted to put it in his mouth(yuk) and we were able to get this quick shot of him with the money in hand. It is so funny to think that he has no idea what money is. His innocence is priceless:)

Sun and Fun

On our way back from Rend Lake with Billy's family. We had a blast, Lucas was awesome on the boat. He did not make a fuss with the life jacket at all, we put his shades on and he just fell asleep. When we stopped he just played with his toys and was just in a happy mood. We docked at the beach today and he just loved the water there, he loved the waves! Everybody just raved at what a good little boy he was. I really did not expect him to do so well, but I was a proud mama. Here are a couple pics of the weekend! We should be home in about an hour, unload the car and get a hot shower and bedtime for me! My mom will be in tomorrow for a few days babysitting Lucas while Billys mom is out of town. It is always nice to see my momma and just hang out. Everyone have a great Labor Day!
